It’s convention time again, folks! Continuum 9 is this weekend, right here in Merry Old Melbourne.
This is probably the last one I will do for the year, so if you want to meet me or listen to me jabber on this is your best opportunity until next year.
I will be participating in the following panels:
Speech Bubbles and Space Blasters Saturday 10:00. Matt Emery, Emmet O’Cuana and I will be talking about science fiction comics.
Fighting Like A Girl Saturday 3 pm. I will be discussing kick-ass heroines and the way they are presented in popular culture with Lucy Baker, Nicole Canal, Tor Roxburgh, and Darren Sanderson.
Spooky Stories Sunday 10 pm (double session) Richard Harland, Talie Helene, Robert Hood, Kirstyn McDermott, Jason Nahrung and I will be reading some of our favourite pieces of horror fiction.
Misappropriations Monday 12 pm. I will be talking about writing stories and characters from cultures, religious groups and genders other than the author’s own with Nalini Haynes, N. K. Jemisin, Stephanie Lai, and David Witteveen.
- I will also be participating in a signing session on Saturday at 2pm. Copies of Bloody Waters will be available from Slow Glass Books in the dealer room and I will likely have a selection of comics with me on the table.
- At other times you will probably be able to find me attending panels or hanging out by the AHWA table. Stop by and say hi!
